Kathleen Grace shines brilliantly on No Place to Fall.

For those of you in the U.S., Happy Labor Day weekend! I hope that you are enjoying the end of summer surrounded by those you love. As the summer winds down, I have been listening to the incredibly soulful Kathleen Grace and her music just fills me with love, inspiration, and leaves me wanting more of her timeless sound every single time. Her classic jazzy style will be a perfect fit when you’re sitting on the dock of the bay, or roasting marshmallows around the firepit this fall.

The Arizona native, now residing in Los Angeles, has a powerful sultry voice that will certainly please fans of Norah Jones, Neko Case, and Chicago’s up and coming artist, Danielle Juhre. Grace’s vocals are smoky, sultry and she all heart throughout her album No Place to Fall, which features some incredible covers of classics as well as some of her original numbers.

Check out her cover of Townes Van Zandt’s No Place to Fall, the opening track on the album.

I’m On Fire, an original track of Grace’s on the album is my favorite track on No Place to Fall. Her voice shines on this track and the song exhibits Grace’s talent for songwriting with lyrics that showcase the darker, deeper side of her as an artist.

Moving on to another fantastic cover that I have been very excited to share with you since I first listened to Kathleen Grace’s album. Any fans of the Meat Puppets out there? Her cover of their hit Plateau is absolutely brilliant!

There are some other incredible covers on this album that are definitely worthy of your time. The album includes a fantastic cover of Duke Ellington’s classic Mood Indigo which features a great steel guitar sound throughout it.

I’ll leave you to enjoy her original track, Fine Young Woman, in hopes that you’ll enjoy this song as much as I did and that you will add it to your collection of classic artists on the musical horizon.

Support this artist and buy her album at: No Place to Fall on Bandcamp or on Kathleen Grace on itunes.

Kathleen- I look forward to hearing and learning more about your music and I certainly hope to catch you on the road soon!

Thanks for listening music lovers. Have a wonderful holiday weekend!
