Happy weekend music lovers. Lately, I have been checking out a Brooklyn band called Shinobi Ninja. I like to refer to them as eclectic rock that fuses the metal, funk, rap, and electronic genres into a musical cocktail that makes their sound hard to define, but that is exactly what I like about their music. One thing I can tell you is that this band rocks out hard and their rap lyrics are equally as insightful and powerful.

They recently shared some of their music with me and I have really enjoyed listening to their song What If Times.

The music video for this track displays their creativity, their beliefs, and their talent. I happen to find the little boy at the beginning of this video adorable! Edara Johnson “Baby G” has a solid voice and spunk that draws you into listening to their message, and who knew that she is an accomplished dancer having performed with headlining get acts such as Rhianna, Jason Derulo and Nelly. Her bandmates bring their own unique spin to the playing field and their electric guitar riffs and beats will impress you.

I look forward to keeping tabs on this band and seeing what they do next. They are on my list of bands to track. There is something uniquely genuine about this group and I am really glad they reached out to me. I hope you will enjoy getting to know their music as much as I have.

This band is soon to be rocking Austin, TX next month during the SXSW music festival. If you happen to be in the New York area, catch them on April 1st, at the Hall in Brooklyn. I will definitely be checking out one of their high energy live performances next time I am in the city!

Shinobi Ninja- Thanks for sharing your music with me. I’m glad we found each other. I am excited to meet you and hear you jam in the near future.

Thanks for listening!
