It’s time for Throwback Thursday!

Even if you are not a fan of country music, this iconic song deserves to exist in your music library. It is by far one of the most beautiful and saddest love songs ever written, by one of the most talented country music artists of all time. In fact, the song has often appeared at the top of music surveys throughout the years as being the best country song of all time. It was Jones’s first number one hit and the song has since been covered by a pool of many talented artists; however, the original version will forever endure the test of time. If country is not your ideal music genre, just do me a favor and give this song at least one listen. The story of a man’s unwavering love for a woman that comes to an end only as a result of his death.
George Jones- He Stopped Loving Her Today (1980)

Side note: I wrote this post a few days ago, knowing that this was the song I wanted to feature for a throwback. It really broke my heart this afternoon when the news about Celine Dion’s husband passing hit. Heartfelt thoughts go out to her…and this song seems even more bittersweet today.

Thanks for listening!
