Lucie Silvas- New Album- Letters to Ghosts

Happy Labor Day weekend (for those in the U.S.) and happy weekend to all of you in general!  Here is some new music for you to enjoy throughout the weekend.  You are going to love this artist’s music.

First, let’s talk about the song Villain.  I came across this song and the world stopped.  This song is absolutely brilliant and her voice evocative.  The video that goes along to this incredible piece of music is haunting and equally as emotional.  Meet Lucie Silvas.  Her music is going to give you chills.  This song is amazing.

A London native who now calls Nashville, Tennessee her home, Silvas is an incredibly talented artist with an amazing voice. Having graced the stage with numerous acclaimed artists such as Elton John, Jamiroquai, Lionel Richie, Kacey Musgraves, among others, her songwriting is inspiring, and her up and coming album, Letters to Ghosts, scheduled to be released later this month (September 18th), is filled with one creative genius track after another.  Reminiscent of artists such as Adele, Kelly Clarkson, and at times Melissa Etheridge, Silvas’ powerful voice is unwavering in her songs.  I have added the title track Letters to Ghosts to my end of summer playlist and each time I hear it, I fall in love with it a little more.  I love Silvas lyrics, and her powerhouse vocals are amazing to listen to on every single song she sings.

It would be very remiss of me not to share this one particular song on her new album that I really encourage you to take in with an open heart.  I hope it will give you strength whenever you need it.  I think it is applicable on an individual level reminding you to keep it all in perspective; and, for those of you who have weathered some tough times in a relationship, Unbreakable Us is a powerful anthem to subscribe to and get you through the dark moments whenever you start to feel defeated.

Everywhere I go, the only thing I know…we can weather whatever comes around. This isn’t over yet.

Whatever it is, it ain’t strong enough….to break unbreakable us….

This song has helped me get through some very tough times recently when external forces have challenged my relationship with someone I love tremendously.  There have been moments when I’m sitting there thinking random thoughts, and this song will come on my playlist, and I get tears in my eyes.  It is a beautiful and powerful melody that she pours her soul into when she sings it.  It will remind you to believe in yourself, and to have faith in “us”.  You will weather through whatever comes your way.  We are all stronger than we think.

Here’s a link to the song for your enjoyment.  I must have played it from this link a hundred times.  Just do yourself a favor and buy the whole album.

Here is a video of her performing Unbreakable Us during a living room rehearsal session:

This artist deserves to be on the radio and the only way to help her get there is by sharing and spreading the word about her music.  Her lyrics are evocative and inspired by real life.  Get back to real music and get to know more about this artist by visiting Lucie Silvas.  You can pre-order her entire album, and also purchase songs that have been released off the shorter EP here:  Letters to Ghosts!

If you get a chance, go see her on TOUR! I guarantee you she must be incredible live.  I can promise you that I will certainly be extending an invitation to Silvas to be part of my BacktoMoreCowbell’s house concert series. (Fingers crossed she says yes!)

Lucie, I hope you’re coming back up to the mid-atlantic region and east coast.  I am so grateful and fortunate that I came across your music.  Every song you have released throughout your career has been exquisite.  And…by the way… HAPPY BIRTHDAY LUCIE!! I know your birthday was yesterday.  Hope it was a good one!
